0a.d. Pipeline

I have begun re-working the WildFire games pipeline. I am more motivated to doing so because Wildfire games crew are planning to go Open Source some time in June.

There are lots of animations to be done and this will benefit World Forge as well as the Open Source community as a whole. They are planning to use Collada. I will be exporting existing content out of Max into Collada Any new animation will be generated in XSI.

Skeleton Exported

After several attempts at trying to get skeleton to export, I finally did it. The problem was fixed when I exported the skeleton to another package and then brought it in to Blender. Re-assigned vertex weighting and it worked.

In addition added some basic actions, run, walk, idle. Also animated some cool attack animations in addition to swim and chop.

Model is available on WorldForge SVN and a Cal3D file coming soon.

Typo3/Ultrasurge.com (TECH RANT)

I have been busily working away on my web site.

I really liked Typo3, however it was way to difficult to keep working with it. Unconventional scripting language, slow back end and flakey support for Image Magick or vise versa.

The decision was force upon me this weekend and get off the content management system. This happened when Ultrasurge.com wasn't able to restore my backed site. I wasn't able to restore my backups either. I asked tech support several times and Ultrasurge was unresponsive.

Exported Worldforge Male

Last several months I have been re-factoring WorldForge SVN repository. It has been in neglect for several years and was in a dysfunctional state. During this process I have worked with Rob Galanakis (http://robg3d.com/) at Radiant Machine and he gave me permission to take characters he has build over the years and import them into the Worldforge world. In the process I had to trouble shoot the pipeline between XSI and Ogre. The solutions is located here.
